Our office gets extremely busy and setting up inflatables is no easy task. We work hard to create a fun office environment where everyone enjoys coming to work. How it all started…

In 2000, after co-founding a company that specialized in theme parties, I opened my own business in the inflatable industry. I rented a warehouse slot in Kansas City, KS to store my inventory and would bring home the moonwalks to clean them after each event. I ran Creative Carnivals & Events out of my home office and my husband and I would bring our three kids to the warehouse on Thursday nights to load the one truck we had for the weekend events. I had one employee, Aaron, that would run the jobs for me. I would keep my events on a paper calendar and would mail all the contracts.

When I opened CC&E, the internet didn’t exist and so once everything moved to online I had to adapt by coming up with a short website address without a symbol. Sondra has always been a hard name for people to remember, so I would always just tell people to call me the “Carnival Lady” and that is where our website address and email came from!

Safety has always been a priority for me since starting my company. If I don’t own it, there usually is a reason why. I never purchase an inflatable the first year it is released to ensure the safety of the product. My husband and I attend our industry convention every year in Orlando to add new products and services to the over 400 items we offer our customers. We like to see them firsthand to make sure they are high quality, safe, sturdy, and can be easily cleaned and sanitized. We provide entertainment to so many loyal customers, we like to always have new games and inflatables to change the look of the event year after year. We also like to buy products that we can package together for a fun themed event. My goal is always to make CC&E a unique party rental company that offers our customers a one-stop-shop, custom event where they can choose from attractions, inflatables, games, entertainers and concession items.

Creative Carnivals & Events has been planning and providing service to our customers for over 25 years. During that time my knowledge and experience has grown immensely. My husband, Kevin took over running the warehouse and managing the delivery and setup of our equipment at events. We now have a warehouse of our own with a fleet of company branded delivery trucks and vans.

Where we are now…

In 2025, Kevin and I decided it was officially time to start enjoying life outside of running the company. My son, Scott has taken on responsibilities of the warehouse along with our long-time employee, Shaun. My daughter-in-law Becca, is our Talent Coordinator in the office and staffs all of our talented entertainers for our events. Bekka, who I consider family, has taken over the business operations and booking events. The “Carnival Lady”, along with the email extension and website have retired! I know this team will continue to provide the same level of service and fun that I focused on for so many years.
