What is the Kansas Amusement Ride Act?
The Kansas Amusement Ride Act (KARA) is a state law overseen by the Kansas Department of Labor that regulates the safety of amusement rides, including inflatables, that requires operator training, mandatory inspections, insurance and reporting of serious injuries. The purpose is to ensure rides meet ASTM standards and enhance public safety by requiring permits and protocols for operation and maintenance for outdoor public events in Kansas.
